1780’s Adelphi vaults re-imagined as offices

Savoy Place, Strand, London UK Offices

The unlisted Georgian cellars adjacent to the Adam Brother’s Adelphi development (tragically demolished in the 1930’s) & the Edwardian booking office of the Booth Steamship Line are re-imagined as new private offices overlooking the Thames for one of our long-term clients.  A new entry into the building is created through a new garden on Savoy Place & a circular stair & circular glass lift bring visitors up to the office floors & a new roof terrace.

The 18thC Italian architect Piranesi’s imaginary but highly evocative arched drawings were a big influence on the podium design of the Adam’s project & we hope to evoke something of the same spirit.

Construction start anticipated early 2022.
