An 18th century hay loft was renovated to form a
contemporary art gallery on two floors. A seven metre abstract plane
emphatically directs visitor circulation and separates the entrance
area from the private offices behind. A huge frameless window links
the double height public gallery with the private upper salon, allowing
the timber roof trusses to run through and visually unite the two
exhibition spaces. The renovation's abstract palate clearly delineates
the old from the new.
